Robert Gagné is professor at HEC Montréal, director of the Institute of Applied Economics (IAE) and Fellow at the Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis on Organizations (CIRANO). He is also the author of a number of articles published in some of the profession’s top scientific journals, in particular the Journal of Econometrics and the Journal of Business and Economic. Professor Gagné explained why he thinks Quebec’s school boards should be abolished to improve services and be more efficient when responding to the specific needs of different school clienteles. According to Robert Gagné, school boards exist mainly to collect the local school tax which is unfair and ineffective.
