Notice of appointment – Economist Luc Vallée joins the MEI

Montreal, July 8, 2019 – The MEI is very happy to announce the appointment of Luc Vallée to the position of Chief Operating Officer & Chief Economist.

Up until just recently, Mr. Vallée headed the Economic Research and Strategy group at Laurentian Bank Securities. From 2009 to 2014, he was Chief Economist and Director of Research and Analysis at Canada Economic Development. He has also served as Chief Economist and Vice President of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

Luc Vallée has also served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Strategy for Mediagrif Interactive Technologies, as well as Deputy Treasurer at Canadian National Railways. He holds a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA.
