9,5 G Le gouvernement canadien versera 9,5 milliards $ américains au constructeur automobile GM pour l'aider à se restructurer. En échange, les contribuables canadiens se retrouvent avec une participation de quelque 12% dans GM, sans garantie que l’entreprise puisse redevenir rentable. Au contraire de sa maison-mère américaine, la filiale canadienne de GM ne s'est pas placée sous la protection de la loi canadienne sur les faillites, car elle est plus avancée dans ses plans de restructuration.
